Excellent food and service. Had the shrimp pad thai, level 3 for spiciness. I also had the coconut soup and we shared the conconut shrimp appetizer. Everything was delicious. Only one issue - one patron at another table carried on a video call from the time she walked in until the time she departed. Completely aloof and in her own world. Restaurants need to tell customers that video calls in their restaurant are unacceptable. I don't need to hear their conversations.

Food is great! We ordered roti masaman, fresh rolls, pork belly, and beef shank hot pot for three of us - every dish was seasoned well and had a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy. The service is great as well and the waiter was very thoughtful and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. We were also given a free sample of the thai iced tea. We came here on a whim and had no regrets. 10/10 would recommend.

Ordered: Summer Roll (~$11): fresh vegetable roll wrapped with shrimp and served with peanut sauce Roti Massaman (~$11): roti pancake served with potato in Massaman dipping Gai Tod Hat Yai (~$16): marinated chicken leg, shallots, sticky rice, and sweet chili sauce Pad See Ew with Tofu (~$16): sautéed wide noodles with egg and Chinese broccoli in black soy sauce Aya's take: Kam Rai Thai is contemporary Thai cuisine offering dishes from the 4 regions of Thailand. I like that the menu was loaded with photos but I will say I was overwhelmed with the selection. I also realized how "Americanized" most Thai spots are here since there were quite a few dishes I had never heard of before. We started off with the Summer Roll and Roti Massaman. The Roti Massaman was absolutely delectable. The roti was flaky, light, and oily and the Massaman dipping was rich, aromatic, and soothing. A great combination. The Summer Roll was a bit disappointing. According to the menu, it should have noodles in it (which is what I'm used to at other places) but this one was just loaded with greens. Aside from the small sliver of shrimp in each piece, it was basically lettuce. The peanut sauce was tasty but because of the lack of filling it's not worth getting as an appetizer. The Gai Tod Hat Yai was a good try! It was fried a bit too hard making it a bit dry and overly fried on the outside but paired well with the sweet chili sauce. I personally didn't care for the sticky rice but if you like textures, I can see this being enjoyable from the crispiness of the chicken to the softness of the rice. The Pad See Ew with Tofu was a real winner. It was such a comforting dish and really well-made. I love that smoky, umami flavor you get from the black soy sauce. The noodles were cooked perfectly, their tofu is fantastic, and I loved the fresh crunch of Chinese broccoli in every bite. The ambiance is also super cute in here; great for dates or dinner with a friend. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Astoria!

This isn't your average Thai spot--it's above and beyond! Every dish is crafted with fresh, authentic ingredients, and the flavors are unforgettable. The chef has really balanced the flavors and heat of each dish. Fair portions, vibrant flavors, and a refreshing take on Thai cuisine make every bite interesting and worth savoring. Stop by and treat yourself to a meal that's anything but ordinary.

Fantastic customer service from beginning to end. We felt welcomed and comfortable throughout, the servers were attentive and helpful and gave recommendations when asked. The roti massaman was the star, absolutely delicious. So delicate with a depth of flavour and so well balanced. Had a nice umami taste to it, a bit of sweetness and a tiny bit of spice. Very comforting and absolutely fantastic, I look forward to having that again soon. The summer rolls with shrimp were ok, not my personal favorite, but they were fresh and decent overall. I personally would try a different app next time. The pad see eww was great, but could use a bit more tofu. It was fresh, not too salty, the noodles were tender, Chinese broccoli well cooked, tofu was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just right! It's great to have this in the neighbourhood and I look forward to going back and trying the pad Thai and curry dishes.

Kam Rai Thai is off the beaten path, but it's a nice addition to the restaurant scene in Queens. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is trendy with the help of the faux flowers hanging near the entrance as you walk in. The food is just as comforting as the decor with classics such as the mango salad and chive pancakes. The chive pancakes were a delight and were the perfect texture. The tom yum soup noodle was hearty and a perfect dish to be shared. I would've preferred if they made it spicy but the friend I was with couldn't handle spice. The crispy duck was the best part of the meal. The least wowing part of the experience were the cocktails which I found to be meh. The desserts were also lackluster with the mango sticky rice being the wrong texture and the brown sugar jelly just being jelly with a spoon of brown sugar. If you're just focused on the appetizers and the food, I think Kam Rai Thai can provide great value if you're willing to make the trek. Maybe next time I'll try the dishes as they are meant to be: spicy.

I accidentally walked into this place as I was shopping for Greek groceries. This place is cool. Good for a date night. They also have outdoor seating in the back during the summer months. The server was very nice. I asked him if he was the chef he said no, Chef Oak came out to greet me and I got a chance to meet him. Very very nice guy. I ordered the special beef noodle soup. And it was delicious. Coming back to try other dishes.

We came here on a Tuesday night and we're seated immediately. Right away, I noticed the floral decor and patterns that lined the ceilings and walls, the atmosphere was very romantic but at the same time, it could host a an intimate group for a special dinner. We started off with drinks, which were great and set the mood. Only when I looked online did I noticed they had an happy hour that we did not come to know of. The chicken was crispy and paired well with the sweet Thai sauce. The curry puffs were the star of the show and came out fluffy and piping hot on the inside for the mains, I was craving noodles so I thoroughly enjoyed , the Thai inspired flavors of my beef noodle soup (~$20), and my partner got their special minced beef dish (Kraphao Nuea Sab Kai Dao $21.95) which boasts of sweet basil, pepper & chili seasonings. All in all, this was a great place to spend the night out, although I still think the price point could be slightly adjusted for the entrees that were served.

My new favorite Thai place. The staff is great and the chef is lovely. If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine, this is the spot to go. The decor is gorgeous, small intimate spot perfect for date night. I love spicy food, the spice at this spot is on point, a little too spicy in some cases. I recommend going with medium spice. I've dined here twice so far and tried a variety dishes, everything was good, you can't go wrong with whatever you select. They also have an innovative cocktail menu and their Thai iced tea is very good.
